- Keep your work wardrobe clean and pressed and your shoes polished so you’re less inclined to shop for new.
- Buy at least one “cheater meal” when grocery shopping for a day you would be tempted to eat out.
- Pick up pennies on the street to remind yourself that every effort counts.
- Give 25% of your “stuff” away to charity. Separating out the junk well help you admire the gems.
- Before tossing anything, do a mini-brainstorm as to how you can repurpose it.
- Re-evaluate any projects you are planning that require spending to determine their necessity.
- Stay home one weekend a month.
What tips do you have to save money?

- Add refried beans to taco meat
- Mix diced potatoes or chickpeas with meat curries
- Divide meats into smaller portions before storing (most cuts are significantly larger than 4 ounces)
- Add cooked rice to hamburger patties and meatloaves
- Supplement spaghetti sauce with diced tomatoes
- Use smaller amounts of more flavorful cheeses in casseroles
- Mix fancy greens with head lettuce for crunch and color
- Turn juice into a spritzer with mineral water
- Freeze a cup of wine for a later crock pot or stew (not good enough to drink but fine for cooking)

- Blend “old” fruit into smoothies
- Grind stale bread or crackers into crumbs and store in freezer or make bread pudding
- Toss rotisserie chicken bones into the crock pot to make stock overnight
